Tyler is a screenwriter originally from Maine, but grew up traveling across the country in a military family. He studied theology at Virginia Commonwealth University, deepening his understanding of human motivation, history, art, and literature.

After college, Tyler began his career as a journalist with 303 Magazine in Denver, covering music and film events. While there, he programmed a short film screening for the Denver Film Festival and helped coordinate related events. His passion for film grew, leading him to serve on screening committees for both AFI Docs and the Denver Film Festival. He also completed multiple courses through the Sundance Co//ab program.

Tyler’s work spans genres but always explores themes of humanity and grief, often with a focus on uplifting diverse and intersectional stories from the LGBTQIA+ community. Though he currently is focused on writing, he dreams to also one day direct his work.
